A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Wolf Man film. The movie continues the trend of reimagining Universal’s classic monsters. Based on the trailer, this rendition of Universal’s 1941 classic The Wolf Man will not shy away from body horror.
Director Leigh Whannell will helm the project. Known for co-directing Saw, Whannell is no stranger to reimagining classic Universal monsters. In 2020, he remade The Invisible Man to great success.
The Wolf Man trailer shows a family attacked by a mysterious creature. Following the attack, the main character, Blake—played by Christopher Abbott—appears to become ill. He begins to frighten his wife, Charlotte (played by Julia Garner), and their daughter, Ginger (played by newcomer Matilda Firth). What happens next is left to the imagination. In addition to the information revealed in the trailer, there is also an official synopsis:
Christopher Abbott stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte (played by Julia Garner), fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth). As the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they are attacked by an unseen animal. In a desperate escape, they barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night wears on, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable. Charlotte is forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger outside.
