Matthew Lillard entered the spirits business in 2022 after being introduced to Tim Sparapani of Blue Run Spirits.
Together, they crafted Quest’s End Whiskey, leading to the creation of Macabre Spirits.
The liquor company, a branch from Lillard’s D&D company, Beadle & Grimm’s Pandemonium Warehouse, felt like a natural progression for the actor, who saw crafting high-quality spirits as akin to creating captivating storylines for D&D campaigns.
Known for his love of the horror genre and roles in films like Scream and Five Nights at Freddy’s, Lillard’s creation of a spirits brand catering to horror fans seemed like a perfect fit.
“Macabre’s inaugural release is accompanied by Rare, Fine & Limited, an exclusive, original novella written by Mike Flanagan,” Lillard mentioned in an interview.
The release also includes custom cover artwork by Mia Bergeron, whose design will appear on the bottle of tequila.
Lillard has stated he has further plans for Macabre Spirits, with hopes for seasonal releases that will feature artwork or horror-themed elements to appeal to his niche market and customers.
