With The Oscars, Writers Guild Awards (delayed by the strike), and the 2023-24 awards season over, it is time to look ahead to the upcoming award season.
All dates are according to Deadline and break down upcoming events as the Emmy season starts and looks ahead to Cannes, fall film festivals, and the next Academy Award races.
July will see many awards and nominations. July 8th will see the ESPYs. Then follow up with the TCA Awards on July 12th and the Kids Choice Awards on the 13th. The month will close out with the Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.
August will begin with the SDSA Awards on the 5th. Next will be the Dorian Awards on the 12th. After that, August will end with the LMGI Awards and AstraTV Awards on the 24th.
September, October, and November all only have one event. September 15 has the Primetime Emmy Awards, October 6 will have the American Music Awards, and November 8 will have Grammy Awards nominations.
December is the busiest month of 2024 starting with the Gotham Awards on the 2nd. Golden Globe Award nominations will follow on the 9th, immediately followed by PGA Awards nominations for documentary films and the MUAHS Awards nominations on the 10th. December 13 will hold the PGA Awards nominations for sports, children’s, and short-form categories. December will finish out with the Oscar’s shortlists and DGA student film awards.
2025 will kick off with the Golden Globe Awards on the 5th. It will then be followed by SAG nominations, New York Film Critics Circle Awards, ADG Nominations, and finish with the PGA Awards nominations for theatrical, animated, and streamed/televised films & TV series/specials.
February will be another busy month hosting the Grammys Awards on the 2nd, DGA Awards, and PGA Awards on the 8th, BAFTA Film Awards on the 16th, and finishing with the ICG Publicists Awards on the 28th.
March 2 will see the Oscars and the season will finish with the Gotham TV Awards on June 2nd.
