After breaking records at the box office, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film is now breaking records in the streaming service world as well.
According to Variety, the newest version of the concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), which is three and a half hours long due to the extra five songs only available in this version of the film, is the number one music film to ever be on the streaming platform.
Some of the other music films that are on the streaming service include Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, Black Is King: A Film by Beyoncé, The Beatles: Get Back, and Swift’s previous music film Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.
Based on records from Disney, the film received 4.6 million views in the first three days of its release. It was also calculated that in three days, Swifties totalled 16.2 million hours watched.
Disney spent $75 million to get the rights to distribute the film and it seems like they got their money’s worth. This is reinforced by the fact that during its time in theaters, according to Box Office Mojo, the film made $261 million globally.
While a different version of the Eras Tour film is available to buy in both physical and digital versions, it is unknown if the Disney+ version will ever be available to own.
