The Santa Barbara Film Festival is gearing up for its 39th edition, announcing Virtuoso Award recipients and other honorees.
The Virtuoso Award will be given to Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Colam Domingo (The Color Purple and Rustin), America Ferrera (Barbie), and Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers), according to Deadline.
Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Greta Lee (Past Lives), and Charles Melton (May December) were previously announced as Virtuoso Award recipients. The 39th annual Santa Barbara Film Festival is scheduled to run February 7-17. Bradley Cooper will receive the Outstanding Performer of the Year Award, and Ryan Gosling will receive the Kirk Douglas Award For Excellence In Film.
The SBIFF has become a significant event in the lead-up to the Oscars, with various awards contenders and eventual Oscar winners being celebrated at the festival. The 2023 SBIFF honored notable figures such as Jamie Lee Curtis, The Daniels, Brendan Fraser, Key Huy Quan, Cate Blanchett, Angela Bassett, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Austin Butler, Kerry Condon, Stephanie Hsu, Jeremy Pope, Jermey Strong, Danielle Deadwyler, and Nina Hoss.
