The Insidious franchise is back with its upcoming film Insidious: The Red Door. The film will be having the return of Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, and many more as the Lambert family is haunted again by their past. Insidious: The Red Door takes place a decade after the events in Insidious: Chapter 2 with the return of earlier demons as they stalk Josh Lambert (Wilson) and Dalton Lambert (Simpkins) as Dalton goes off to college.
Insidious: The Red Door will be Wilson’s director debut as he takes on the role of the franchise from the latest film, Insidious: The Last Key,which was directed by Adam Robitel. Comicbook got insight from the producer James Wan as he gives high praise to Wilson’s work on taking the role of being the director. Wan states, “But I’m super excited for what Patrick is doing with Insidious.” He continues, “Patrick reminds me a little bit of Leigh Whannell in that they are not just actors slash whatever; they are filmmakers as well.”
From releasing the first trailer of Insidious: The Red Door, Sony Pictures released a still picture featuring Wilson as he is back again in the dark with a lamp, like in later Insidious’ films. Fandango, tweeted out the image for their summer preview week of the film.
