A post-screening Q&A for the new film Evil Rise Dead was crashed by a heckler last Wednesday at the South By Southwest Film Festival. Footage of the altercation went viral on social media. Sitting on the theatre’s balcony, the heckler is approached by staff members and loudly yells: “This movie f*cking sucks.”
After chucking his empty popcorn in the air, he starts to leave, which the audience cheers and applauds for. After continuously yelling, the film’s executive producer Bruce Campbell yells, “What are you doing here? Get the f*ck out of here.”

The film’s other producer, Robert Tapert, was also onstage and added: “I don’t get it. He waited all the way through the credits.”
Evil Dead Rise is the fifth film in the Evil Dead franchise, initially created by horror icon Sam Raimi. The new film, written and directed by Lee Cronin, follows two sisters, played Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan, who become tormented by flesh-eating demons. The film also stars Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Neil Fisher.
Sam Raimi serves as executive producer along with original franchise stars Campbell, John Keville, Macdara Kelleher, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Romel Adam, and Victoria Palmieri.
