At San Diego Comic Con’s Marvel panel, the teaser trailer for the long anticipated sequel to the MCU’s Black Panther was released. The trailer’s release comes alongside news of the 5th and 6th phase of the MCU, with a new Captain America film called Captain America: New World Order set to come out in May 2024 and a new film called Thunderbolts is set to follow in July 2024. In November 2024 the 2nd reboot of the dormant Fantastic 4 franchise is also primed for release in November 2024, with this film also marking the starting point for the 6th phase in the MCU which will end with Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
As for the Wakanda Forever trailer, it is a powerful display of the human spirit to say the least. “I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone,”Ramonda, played by Angela Bassett, cries at one point. “Have I not given everything?” In the trailer, it is revealed that Ramonda is now the queen of Wakanda after T’Challa’s untimely passing. T’Challa is played by Chadwick Boseman who lost an personal battle with cancer in 2020 at the age of 43. The trailer touches on the grief and pain in a well handled manor, but also focuses on new life and opportunities. The film is slated for release on November 11.
