Deadline reports that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker leading actress Daisy Ridley is set to star and produce the indie drama Sometimes I Think About Dying. The film recently wrapped in production in Oregon. Rachel Lambert directs with Kevin Armento, Stefanie Abel Horowitz, and Katy Wright-Mead penning the script. Included in the cast are Dave Merheje, Meg Stalter, Bree Elrod, Brittany O’Grady, and Parvesh Cheena.
The film is based on the play Killers by Armento and the short film Sometimes I Think About Dying. It follows Fran, a woman who likes to think about dying because it brings excitement to her quiet life. When she makes the new guy at work laugh, it leads to more. But even after a conversation, a date, and a spark, the only thing blocking their way is Fran herself.
Ridley can be seen next starring in Neil Burger’s The Marsh King’s Daughter, an adaptation of the psychological-thriller novel of the same name. She has several projects in the making as well, including Mathieu Kassovitz’s futuristic thriller, Mind Fall and Young Woman and the Sea on Disney+.
In The Radiant City, Lambert’s narrative feature debut premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016 and was nominated for the New American Cinema Award.
