Barry Keoghan, who has recently starred in The Green Knight and will star in the upcoming MCU flick Eternals, was hospitalized in Ireland after an assault “in the early hours of last Sunday,” according to Independent.ie. The 28-year old actor was treated for non-threatening injuries that included alterations on his face.
Not much is known about the encounter and Keoghan himself as well as his reps have said little about the situation. Though a local told the Irish publication that broke the story that, “[Keoghan] was spotted around town a bit. He said he was down to see a few people he had become friends with when he was abroad.”
The night seemed to have been an average one, but turned into something more during the early hours. Another local added, “It was known he was staying up in the G Hotel, which is one of the poshest hotels in the city. But no one heard anything about any assault or anything and it was obviously kept very quiet.”
No comment has been made by Keoghan’s reps as of now, though it is known that the actor was released from the Galway hospital.
Keoghan has been one of the most prolific actors of the last decade appearing in Dunkirk, The Killing of A Sacred Deer, and the miniseries Chernobyl. The 28-year old actor is next set to hop from MCU to DECU with his upcoming projects Eternals and The Batman.
