Fast Color is a thriller written by Hart and Horowitz about a woman who is forced to go on the run when her superhuman abilities are discovered. After years in hiding, the safest place for her becomes her former home and the family – particularly the women- she left behind.
The project is set to begin shooting in New Mexico on March 13. According to producer Liddell,
This is exactly the kind of movie I want to see in the theater – three generations of strong women finding their power. Gugu and Julia are extraordinary talents and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them both on this special project.
LD Entertainment were the production company behind this year’s Jackie, starring Natalie Portman.
Mbatha-Raw, known for her breakout roles in Belle and Beyond the Lights, appeared in this year’s Free State of Jones, Concussion, and a highly rated episode of Netflix’s Black Mirror, titled “San Junipero.” Coming up, Mbatha-Raw will be starring in this year’s Cloverfield film, formerly known as God Particle. She is also part of the large Wrinkle in Time ensemble currently being directed by Ave DuVernay.
The actress was also a part of Julia Hart’s Miss Sloane, which starred Jessica Chastain at the end of 2016. Hart’s Miss Stevens debuted at the SXSW festival and earned star Lily Rabe a Best Actress prize. Hart also wrote The Keeping Room, a Civil War thriller starring Brit Marling and Hailee Steinfeld.
